Rotational Negative (#4, Yellow)
Photogram 30 x 20 in. (yellow filter)
The Entropic Rotations series is a group of work in which I encased all the pieces of glass left over after cutting the glass for Case 111.1-8 in a 12 inch soldered glass cube. As the cube is rotated, shipped, stored, etc. the contents breakdown conceivably into a final condition in which the box is nothing but a scratched up container of glass dust. Periodically, I make photograms of the box using the three filtrations basic to color photography. As the titles indicate this project is a sort of homage to Robert Smithson's description of the relationship between entropy, recycling, waste and pleasure.
