New Museum Projections

January 2011 · The New Museum, New York

New Museum Projections (NuMu Projection) was created for the New Museum’s Festival of Ideas for the New City (2011) as a projection-mapped animation for the museum’s façade. The work began with a scale glass model of the New Museum, which served as the basis for a series of color photograms made in the darkroom using photographic enlarger filtration. These photograms were then sequenced and animated as a projection precisely mapped onto the museum’s iconic stacked white façade.
